Dr. Julene Johnson is a renowned cognitive neuroscientist, and was named one of the top 50 influencers in aging by UCSF. She is Associate Director Professor at the Institute for Health and Aging at the University of San Francisco (UCSF) and Director of the Sound Health Network, which aims to provide an infrastructure for music & health. She is also an Associate Dean of Research for the School of Nursing. She completed her post doctorate at the University of California Irvine, highlighting forward-thinking approaches for brain aging and dementia.
In this interview, we explore the many steps you can take to assist with Alzheimer’s and dementia as well as how to focus on your brain health. Dr. Johnson points out the many ways in which music can assist with brain health, as well as how the ways in which individuals integrate and interact with music allows a process of brain health to remain continuous.
